We usually focus on what IS, what DOES happen, what we DO. Our human brains are wired with a heavy bias in that general direction. We do well to carefully consider the other side of these equations: what ISN’T but could be, what we might do best NOT to do, especially in the face of more promising alternatives, etc. Focus is a crucial ingredient for progress towards success and growth, and it involves not just the path we set, but also in managing not to allow trivia to lure us off the path. So many temptations! Focus involves thoughtfully choosing our YES decisions, and it also involves lots and lots on NO decisions inherent to staying on course.
